Chandrayaan 2 to Reach Lunar Orbit after Independence Day

Image
Source: Internet India’s second moon mission ‘Chandrayaan-2’ is expected to reach the moon’s orbit on August 20 and land on the lunar surface on September 7, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman Dr K Sivan said on Monday. The spacecraft is all set to leave the earth’s orbit after two days, he told reporters here. Sivan was on the city to take part in the birth centenary celebrations of Dr Vikram Sarabhai, regarded as the father of India’s space programme. The 3,850-kg Chandrayaan-2, a three-module spacecraft comprising orbiter, lander and rover, which was launched on July 22, would make a landing on the moon on September 7, the ISRO chief said. “After launching Chandrayaan-2 on July 22, we did five maneuvers. The Chandrayaan-2 composite body is now revolving around the earth,” he said. The next very important and crucial maneuver will happen on Wednesday morning. “At around 3.30 am on August 14, we are going to have a maneuver called trans-lunar inject...

NASA Detects Huge Interplanetary Shock

Source:https://crev.info/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/NASA-plasmasphere-magnetosphere.jpg NASA's  spacecraft Magnetospheric Multiscale mission -mms-, some time ago, measured the high-resolution of the Interplanetary Shock.  It is a shock.  And these shocks occur everywhere in the universe, they are made up of particles and electromagnetic waves, which are projected by the Sun.  In order to learn about large universal events, we need to measure the Interplanetary Shock at the right time.  What is interplanetary shock ? Interplanetary Shock is a type of collisionless shock - those where particles transfer energy through electromagnetic fields rather than bouncing directly into each other.  These collision shocks are a phenomenon found throughout the universe, including supernovas, black holes, and distant stars.  Interplanetary shocks begin with the sun's rays, as it continuously releases currents of charged particles called solar wind.  Sol...

Weirdest Rivers on Earth

Image
After a huge gap, I am writing today. But let's be a little (or maybe totally) off-track today. I am discussing some of the weirdest rivers of Earth. Rivers are meant to have blue- crystal clear water. That's what we are told, learnt and seen from our childhood days. Today I'm gonna tell about some rivers which are colored by nature's own artistic imagination. Some of them have also changed their color due to human activities too. Some of them have weird streamline! I'll discuss about 4 such wondering rivers... Odeleite River, Portugal This river is also famous as the Blue Dragon River of Portugal (well, the name blue dragon reminds me of a famous Anime series, XD)!  Odeleite  is a river located in the municipality of  Castro Marim ,  Algarve , in  Portugal . It originates in the mountains of the  Serra de Caldeirao  and flows through the municipalities  Sao Bras de Alportel ,  Tavira ,  Alcoutim ,  Castro Marim ...

The Great Filter

Image
So, I am writing again after a long gap. And what I am gonna discuss today is very much important, tricky and can make you scratch your head a lot......xD! But honestly this concept is really an important and tough one, and deep knowledge in this concept, holds some realistic answers to our question:"  Are We Alone in the universe? " As it's an important but hard topic, I will try my best to illustrate it as lucid as possible. If still you are stuck with some riddles in your mind, feel free to contact me by mail, and don't forget to follow and share my blogs over your social media accounts so that others can access these stuffs! Today's topic is all about The Great Filter.  It is a hypothetical wall that filters different life-forms in the universe. But to understand what it actually is & how does it function, we need to start from the very beginning step of life, for instance, as we've observed it on Earth. Life, as we see on our planet, was first...

The Source Of WATER

Image
So guys, today I am back with my  second blog. Today I will try to explain and investigate the potential source of water on our sweet planet Earth. But before I start, I would like to inform you that I may not be writing for a few upcoming weeks due to some personal reasons. So let's get started...... Water... H 2 O... which is alternatively known as Life. Water is one of the most essential building blocks and sustaining element of life. Without water, life couldn't have been formed. We know that first living organisms, and cellular evolution took place in water. So we all know and even feel today, that WATER is exclusively a valuable gift. But how on earth water came? The question though sounds an easy one, but the answer to it is still ambiguous and unclear! Timeline of Earth (Source: Wikipedia) The Earth was formed nearly about 4.54 billion years ago. But the formation of water on earth was not that straight forward. We all were taught in our elementary sciences th...

The Beginning

Image
Well, this is my first entry to bloggers' world, and to be honest, I know little about blogging. But what attracted me is that I can share my passion and knowledge and pursue my hobby of astronomical writing here......... Artistic impression of big bang So, today I am gonna start from the very beginning. Whatever you are looking around you, the things and facilities you're enjoying, have not grown so easily (I know you guys know stuffs, but just formally starting), not even the breath you are inhaling. Everything was rooted into the primordial beginning.... long long before Gods were created, that 13.8 Billion years ago, when this so large Universe was even smaller than the  quark  of an atom! Yes, you guys got it right, I am talking of the  Big Bang , the theory of creation that kept scientists doubtful about its credibility even a few years back. So imagine this beautifully crafted and appropriated Universe was all packed into such a small dimension, with so much...
